Saturday Smiles

“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing”. -Mother Teresa

Extending to you a most heartfelt wish for a beautiful weekend! My Saturday started bright and early which is a rare occurrence. I am a night owl so Saturday is typically a good day to sleep in. But for smiles, I arose early. Those smiles were found on the faces of my fellow racers and walkers at a local Rosary Run/Walk that was supporting SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. John Smith, whose true story was told in the movie, ‘Breakthrough‘ and was a patient at this hospital, spoke and kicked us off! My family and I got a chance to talk to him afterwards and he was so kind and humble. I asked if his story was ‘Hollywoodized’ in the movie and he said that it actually wasn’t so that people would be able to fully see the miracle that took place and not be doubting the authenticity of it. He told us that he was considered dead for over an hour. And here he was standing before us very alive and well thanks to the power of prayer, faith, and God’s mighty hand!! It was a true blessing to be able to meet and talk with him! God works in beautiful ways!

What else is making me smile today??

Being able to connect with ladies from my church’s women’s group online book study (no picture, but here is a link to the book we are reading: One Beautiful Dream).

What is making you smile today???
