St. Therese of Lisieux is my favorite saint. I was first drawn to her when I was in eighth grade reading about saints to choose my Confirmation Saint. I chose her because of her little way. I love her little way of doing small, ordinary acts with lots of love to bring joy, light, kindness, and smiles to others. I love her littleness and her childlike heart. As an adult, I have learned more about her and grown in friendship with her. It brought comfort to me learning that she, like me, had to embrace the cross of OCD. I also, like her, carry the cross of daily physical pain. Though suffering physically and mentally is very difficult and overwhelming, it brings me a sense of joy and purpose offering up my suffering for the intentions of Jesus and Mary.
This brings me to the book I am currently reading: “I Believe in Love”, a personal retreat based on the teaching of St. Therese of Lisieux by Fr Jean C. J. D’Elbee.

This is such a beautiful book filled with so much wisdom and light inspired by St. Therese’s life and writings. I am learning and growing through all of its insights. Here are just a few pages from this amazing book:

I pray this book draws you closer to God. In Christo omnia possum!
