Transformation Tuesday

If God had a wallet, your picture would be in it!

My first Transformation Tuesday, being posted on a Wednesday! I guess it is true what they say, ‘better late, than never’! I came up with the idea to do a Transformation Tuesday from my Bible study which has truly transformed me and the dear ladies in my group. Through Scripture, the Holy Spirit stirring us and moving within us, our awesome Bible study books (Walking with Purpose), and each other, week by week, day by day, we have been transformed by God’s word for us. I feel so blessed and grateful to be a part of something so pivotal and awe-inspiring. So today, on this first Transformation Tuesday, I wanted to share with you an excerpt from our moving current study, ‘Discovering Our Dignity’ (p. 280).

Quiet your heart and enjoy His presence…Come and rest at His feet.

“Come’ says my heart, ‘seek His face” (Psalm 27:8).

When you sit at the feet of Jesus and gaze up at His face, you are reflected in His eyes. Make no mistake, He is not looking at you with disappointment. Lean in and look a little closer. What is reflected in His eyes is the you He had in mind when He created you. He not only sees you–the wrinkles, the wounds, the scars–He sees your potential. He sees who you can become.

It’s hard to see ourselves through Jesus’ eyes, so let’s echo author Charlie Shedd’s prayer: “Lord, help me understand what you had in mind when you made the original me.”
